Football & Life Skills Programme
OSCAR believes the core values inherent in football are principles necessary for community development. Based on our ‘No School, No Football’ policy, OSCAR Foundation provides football and life skills sessions to children from underprivileged communities on the condition that they attend school regularly. We cover life-skills topics like Empathy, Communication Skills, Problem Solving, Creative Thinking and more. Our in-house curriculum delivered by AIFF ACCREDITED D licensed coaches imparts socio-emotional learning, value education and physical activity.
OSCAR delivers life skills on the following topics

In addition to the above, specialised sessions are delivered to Very Young Adolescent girls which focus on gender life skills including sexual and reproductive health and rights, menstruation and gender equity.

Community Learning Centers
Community Learning Centres
Our CLCs are a safe space for children and youth to interact and develop their skills through a variety of opportunities. They promote digital literacy and provide access to computers for children living in low-income communities. OSCAR is committed to bridging the digital divide by offering a number of courses across age groups including a certification by the National Institute for Information Technology. 500 children across our community centres also use tablets to access their education.
Young Leader Project
Young Leader Project
The Young Leader Project is a key ‘football for development’ initiative that is the foundation for the sustainability of our organisation. Youth from low-income communities including previous OSCAR beneficiaries are identified and trained to work with children from underprivileged communities. Since 2010, 750 young leaders have been trained under this initiative across India.
We also conduct our flagship ‘Kick Like a Girl’ training that is designed for girls to challenge the preconceived roles of women in society and educate them about their capabilities and freedoms. Our female Young Leaders then implement their learnings on the field with young girls through a gender life-skills curriculum.
Enabling Change Project
Enabling Change Project
‘Enabling Change’ is our disability inclusion project aimed at helping children with disabilities participate in football and life skills sessions in a safe environment. We deliver specially designed activities keeping in mind their needs.
Football Excellence Project
Football Excellence Project
The OSCAR Foundation Football Excellence Project is a unique project that aims to give talented young football players in Mumbai an opportunity to compete in All India Football Federation’s (AIFF) youth leagues. Any talented child from our programme is welcome to attend our open trials with the best players selected to represent our teams across various age groups.
